Kia UVO, pronounced you-voh, is an infotainment and telematics suite that makes it easier for Greenville-area drivers to stay connected on-the-go, and provides convenient access to functions and features via your smartphone, like remote vehicle settings and diagnostics. Its latest iteration consists of two primary divisions-UVO Play and UVO link-available on a variety of Kia models and trims. Functionality varies by configuration and service level, but here's a quick overview of some UVO service highlights.
UVO Play
UVO Play offers your basic in-vehicle infotainment experience, with radio presets and smartphone integration. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, standard on all new Kia models, provide convenient and familiar access to smartphone apps and functions like hands-free calls and messaging, streaming and stored music, Google and Apple Maps, WAZE traffic, calendars, and more.
UVO link
Kia models equipped with UVO link have a built-in modem allowing you to interact with the vehicle remotely. UVO link offers extensive functionality and features divided among four subscription packages-Lite, Care, Plus, and Ultimate. Most UVO-equipped models offer UVO link Lite complimentary for five years. Here's a quick look at some highlights; each tier builds on the features of the one below it.
- Lite: Shows trip information and mileage, sends maintenance reminders, and attempts to contact emergency services if an airbag deploys. Many newer models also include remote vehicle ignition.
- Care: Get diagnostic alerts and monthly reports, alarm alerts, and 24/7 roadside assistance. You can also set usage parameters for other drivers and be alerted if the vehicle exceeds your preset thresholds for geographical area (geofencing), curfew, and speed.
- Plus: With UVO link plus, Greer and Shelby NC drivers won't have to worry about returning to a hot car or waiting for the cabin to heat up in the winter. Use the UVO link app to set climate controls ahead of time, including the heated and ventilated seats if applicable. You can even remotely set a climate schedule, lock/unlock doors, and start or stop the engine.
- Ultimate: UVO Link's top tier adds convenient navigation features. You can send destinations to the navigation system, find points of interest with voice commands, get more efficient routes, and connect to UVO functions via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

To use UVO Link, you'll have to register your smartphone with the service. Here's how to get started:
- Press the Setup key on the vehicle's head unit below the touchscreen.
- On the touchscreen, select UVO, then, Activate UVO.
- Read through the information and press Submit.
- Enter your phone number email to receive a link on your phone.
- Click the link and create your account. You'll be given an activation code.
- Enter the activation code on the vehicle's touchscreen, then press I Have Entered Verification on your phone.
- Download the Kia Access with UVO Link app using the provided links.
- Log in to the app and enjoy the added convenience of UVO Link!
