Our hybrid vehicles, the Niro Hybrid crossover, and Sorento Hybrid SUV are the perfect way to get started with electrification. No charging is required because the system is all internal and runs on its own. The gas engine charges the battery that runs the motor, so you don't ever have to worry about running out of battery or plugging in. Kia Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
A plug-in hybrid is sort of in-between a hybrid and an all-electric vehicle. You still have a gas engine, but more emphasis is placed on the electric motor. It's possible to drive short commutes 100-percent on the electric engine, and you can charge the battery by plugging into a regular wall outlet overnight or at a fast-charging station to continue driving on electricity only. You can get over 230-miles of range on one charge, and you charge the battery by plugging into a regular wall outlet at home or using a fast-charging station like the one at our dealership. Electric is no longer associated with sacrificing power for efficiency. The Niro EV produces 201-horsepower and 291-pound-feet of torque, and self-charges with regenerative braking which helps maximize your range.
